#Grace Mugabe is the wife of #President Mugabe of Zimbabwe. She became close to him when she was his secretary after the death of his first wife from kidney failure. She is 41 years younger than the president, who celebrated his wedding with great pomp and show. A galaxy of guests including Nelson Mandela attended the celebration. Mugabe’s health deteriorated and Grace thought it a fit time to make a bid for president of Zimbabwe. She began to cultivate the factions of the ruling party in a bid to consolidate her position.

Tokyo Sexwale, who only last year was in the running for Fifa’s top job before subsequently pulling out, spoke about Mandela’s contributions to society during the launch of the fourth instalment of the Mandela Remembrance Walk and Run, at the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

The businessman and former political prisoner said the Walk and Run is a symbol of Madiba’s love of sport. He explained that Mandela’s relationship with sport, in a political sense, was his recognition that sport can unite a divided nation, as witnessed during the 95 Rugby World Cup trophy handover ceremony.

If the flood of sanskar around us wasn’t already bad enough, the neurological department in a university has launched an app which is designed to block pornographic websites. It will also play bhajans and devotional speeches if one tries to open these websites.

Named ‘Har Har Mahadev’, the app has been designed by Dr Vijay Nath Mishra of the neurology department, from the Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), reports The Indian Express.

This app, which was developed in six months, according to the report, can block 3,800 websites related to pornographic and violent content. This is available on both mobile phones and computers.

Rickie Fowler woke up at 5 a.m. Saturday and played three holes in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. It was enough to get him a three-way share of the 36-hole lead going into a marathon finish in Mexico.

Fowler and Patrick Rodgers had to wait out a five-hour rain delay just to resume their second round Saturday. Fowler saved par from a bunker on the 18th hole for a four-under-par 67. Rodgers finally make his first bogey of the tournament on his 17th hole had to settle for a 65.

CAPE TOWN (Reuters) – The recommendation of the Rugby World Cup Board that South Africa hosts the tournament again in 2023 is a victory for “nation-building and social cohesion,” the country’s sports minister Thulas Nxesi said on Tuesday.

The government gave its financial and moral support to the bid having witnessed the role the 1995 tournament played in uniting a fractured society at the end of Apartheid, Nxesi added.

The image of South Africa President Nelson Mandela handing the trophy to Springbok captain Francois Pienaar is one of the most iconic and enduring in rugby.

Former president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are preparing to welcome hundreds of people to Chicago for the inaugural summit of the foundation which bears their name.

The Obama Foundation will bring community leaders from around the world together for an exchange of ideas on common problems.

“We want to inspire and empower people to change the world,” Obama said in a YouTube video detailing the summit.

But what has Obama been up to since he moved out of the White House in January, other than kite-surfing in the Virgin Islands?

From cell to celebrity: Nelson Mandela’s legacy

When I first stood in front of that metal, grille-like door of the cell I felt like I had hit some sort of “replay” button to history. This tiny, 43-square feet cell had been home to Nelson Mandela, freedom fighter and first black president of South Africa, for 18 years.

I kept on gazing at his one-inch thick sleeping mat, rolled up blankets, bucket (used as a toilet), metal cup and plate, and thinking how freedom can blossom through such demeaning living conditions. The light coming through the window was like a beam reflected on my eyes to play history in a flashback.
